5 Tips for Creating a Powerful Meditation, Healing or Spiritual Space
Do you have a sacred space for healing, meditation, your spiritual practice or oracle cards? What elements have you used to consciously create a sacred environment?
I recently designed and opened up an in-person healing space in Denver for the first time. I’ve only offered remote sessions and wanted to experience offering in-person, too.
My goal was to make my healing space as energetically powerful as I could to augment the healing clients would receive in Pranic Healing sessions. That way, they would experience the best results from in-person healing sessions.
I used the knowledge I've learned from Pranic Healing (specifically the course Pranic Healing Feng Shui) and other sources to combine as many energetic elements as I could to create a powerful, sacred, energetic space conducive to healing.
Follow these 5 tips to make your healing, meditation or spiritual space more powerful and effective…
1. Pictures or Statues of Higher Spiritual Beings You Connect With
Not only are pictures portals that help you connect with the energy of someone, but pictures of higher spirtual beings can flood a space with their energy.
Especially if you believe in the power of the beings, their strong energy will permeate the room with their specific frequency of spiritual energy that you can feel when you’re present.
That's one of many reasons why being in places of worship are so powerful. Oftentimes there's many pictures and statues of people and beings with lots of spiritual energy that emanate into the space. If you're energetically sensitive, you can feel it in churches, synagogs, temples, etc.
Whatever your concept of God/The Universe/Supreme Being is and whatever Saints, Gods, Goddesses or Spiritual Beings you connect with, bring them into your spiritual space to make the energy more powerful! You can put their pictures on a wall or create an altar with their statues and photos.
Especially if you channel energy from certain spiritual beings in your energy healing practice, having pictures really helps you connect to them and makes your sessions more effective!
2. Candles, Fairy Lights or Sacred Lighting
Lighting and the use of fire has a huge effect on the atmosphere and what "mode" we subconsciously go into.
Think about being in a store or in an office building with fluorescent lights. Traditional lamps and fluorescent light put us into "normal, daily material-life mode."
Candles, fairy lights and other cool lighting can put us into "fun, magical, creative or sacred mode." I mean, if fairy and string lights aren't fun and magical, I don't know what is!
The fire element creates a more sacred, ancient atmosphere that helps you connect with the divine, timeless aspect of yourself. Think of candles lighting up an alter, or sitting around a bonfire outside under the stars and feeling connected to ancient lifetimes when you lived communally in nature.
Even if you can't use real candles like me, you can still use fake candles to contribute the sacred, ancient element of fire.
3. Facing East
I learned this in the course Pranic Healing Feng Shui-- the 4 cardinal directions have different energies that you can tap into to help influence you in different life activities. The east energy activates your crown chakra and influences you with a more spiritual, creative energy.
When you meditate, heal, journal, read oracle cards or do something creative, it's best to face east. Give it a try and see if things flow easier for you!
If you are lying down, wherever the crown of your head is pointed towards, you will absorb the energy of that cardinal direction. In my healing space, I've positioned the massage table so my client's head faces east when they lie down. This helps them connect on a more spiritual level and be more receptive to the healing energy being channeled to them.
When I heal, I also try to face East so I can channel more healing energy through my activated crown chakra.
4. Plants or Flowers
Most living plants and trees emit a certain frequency of energy called "green prana" in Pranic Healing. This type of energy is cleansing, detoxifying and gently breaks down negative energy.
That's partly why being in the energy of nature feels so healing and rebalancing.
Keeping plants in your healing or spiritual space helps purify it of negative, diseased energies and raises its frequency. Especially if you do energy work in your space like me, it's important to keep it as energetically clean as possible!
Flowers typically emit "pink prana” in Pranic Healing which is the frequency of love, compassion and kindness. Pink prana actives the heart chakra.
So when you put flowers in your healing, meditation or spiritual space, they activate your heart chakra and create an atmosphere of love, joy and sweetness. That's why we gift flowers to people who are sick or grieving-- they are healing and uplifting! 🌸
Living plants and flowers are always better, but even having fake ones will have a placebo affect on our energy system and emotions.
5. Cozy Blankets and Soft Pillows
It's important that you feel safe in your healing, meditation or spiritual space to help you open your heart and mind to the Divine.
Feeling safe with coziness allows you to open your heart chakra, which is necessary to open your crown chakra and experience spiritual connection and receive intuitive information from your Guides and Higher Self.
Gifting yourself with coziness and comfort also nourishes you with self-love and helps heal your relationship to yourself. It helps build your innate sense of self-esteem and worthiness.
It’s so important to consistently treat yourself like a queen or a king if you’re someone who has struggled with self-esteem and worthiness issues in the past.
Also, if you've had to do inner child work on your healing journey from growing up in a family with elements of disfunction, you know that treating yourself with love and nourishment on all levels is so important on the journey of reparenting yourself as a adult.
